A round steak is a cut taken from the rear leg of the animal. It is commonly prepared with slow moist-heat methods to tenderize the meat and maintain moisture. It can also be sliced thin, then dried or smoked at low temperature to make jerky. You normally would not throw a round steak on the grill and season and grill, but we have had surprising luck doing just that! These round steaks are still marbled well enough to make a cheap grill out, but would make EXCELLENT stroganoff, beef stew, kabobs, tenderize them for "minute" steaks for the kids, swiss steak, etc. A great choice for anyone that loves to cook and/or has a family to feed!
